Jan Bemelmans starts this session with the rider stretching his horse forward and down, alternating between the trot and canter. He has them work in the collected trot, stressing that it needs to be calm. They add in small circles as they go around the arena, and then the half pass. Jan offers him interesting advice on the position of the neck when he asks for the half pass and keeps getting a canter depart.
