They reverse direction and work on the shoulder in to traverse, adding a small circle when needed. This exuberant horse offers more in the half pass than is desired, and Jan emphasizes that they must be gentle with him. They now add some passage steps, then go back to the half pass, using the half circle when it goes awry. They talk about how this horse needs to be calm in his work.
