On Day 2, Monica Theodorescu continues helping Neve Myburgh improve her 7-year-old DSP mare Firiet’s balance through counter-canter work and transitions. They also work on lengthening Firiet’s stride and getting her in a more uphill frame, and Theodorescu stresses the importance of being satisfied with small improvements while working with young horses.
Monica Theodorescu is a former dressage Olympian and serves as Germany’s current national head coach. Her star-studded career includes three German team gold medals from Olympic Games—Seoul in 1988, Barcelona in 1992 and Atlanta in 1996. She won team gold and individual bronze medals at the Stockholm World Championships in 1990 and several gold, silver and bronze medals at European Championships.
