Hilda Gurney rides her Grand Prix horse, Wintersnow, in his third year at GP. She talks about the importance of the walk in the test and the obstacles to having a good walk. They warm up on a looser rein, going through all three gaits with transitions and lateral work. Watch for a great warm up that works all parts of the body of the horse with relaxation and throughness. When she goes to the tempi changes, she performs them in the shoulder in. After an extraordinary number of beautiful changes, she rewards him with a free walk break.
