On this Open Training Day at Catherine's facility in Loxahatchee, Florida, Catherine shows us a 9 year old mare ridden by one of her trainers. She shows PSG potential, and Catherine leads us through her normal training. They make an unusual start by asking her for half steps early to keep her hind legs active and loosen her loin. She explains that rideability is far more important than conformation or gait and what aids are used for bend and flexion. Catherine gives a very clear description of how to use your seat to collect your horse.
