Part 2: Matt sets up some ground poles and reminds the rider that her job is to put her mare on the line, maintain the rhythm, allow with her hand without losing the connection and let the horse work out her feet. They work in the canter to go forward without getting strung out, then be able to collect back. Matt notes that the rider allows the mare to build the trot, then canter, instead of making a clean canter transition. They work on maintaining the rhythm in the transition and using half halts to become more balanced and precise.
