Part 1: Andreas coaches the riders to use their seat to bring the horses back and lower the speed, rather than relying on the hands. As the ride through the water element, he reminds the riders to focus on rhythm and staying in the motion with their horses. The riders work on riding forward and keeping the horse in front of their leg, without restricting them with their hand. Andreas works with a rider when her horse runs out, reminding her never to turn the horse in the direction he runs out, and to set an imaginary line from A to B with the fence in the middle, in order to stay straight.
