Five-star eventer Ryan Wood coaches a Training-level horse and rider in a cross-country schooling session. He has the pair walk through the water to give the horse confidence before putting together a small course involving coops, water, a bench and a table. Ryan explains how to ride the line through the water to get a good read on the distance to the jump after it.
Ryan is a five-star eventer originally from Australia. In 2008, he moved to the U.S. and worked for Phillip Dutton before starting his own business, Woodstock Eventing, which is now based out of his and wife Lillian Heard Wood’s Lanefield Farm in Coatesville, Pennsylvania. Ryan has become one of top eventers in the U.S. and is known for his successful cross-country record.
