Joyce moves on to the canter half passes, first asking for the half pass to the center line and continuing with a straight line with bend.  When the mare shows tension, she uses the circle to get relaxation before continuing with the half passes.  The collected trot is next.  Joyce uses multiple small half halts for balance and makes sure to keep her in front of her leg. She goes to the trot half pass, doing multiple zig zags for flexibility.  She controls the speed of the first half passes, and then rides a beautiful, flowing, forward half pass.
