The riders have to learn to land and already be thinking about the next fence, or get into trouble and be able to think clearly and plan out of it, even through fast exercises or challenging lines. David stresses than some people have this more naturally, but it can also be learned through practice. He works with one rider on her accuracy down the line, which allow her to make the correct stride.
