Nancy Later brings us exercises for introducing the canter pirouettes in this new video.  They begin with a leg yield with the head to the wall at a walk to make sure his lower back is soft and that the hind legs are crossing over.  In the trot they check his responsiveness to the leg aids and his ability to expand and contract the steps.  This prepares him for self carriage in the pirouettes without relying on the rider.
