Margie Engle sets a line of two poles across the diagonal of the arena and has the riders canter over it in five strides, then in six strides and next in four strides. She explains that one rider needs to drive with her seat and leg to hand to collect for the six strides. Another rider’s pony goes up and down and weaves in the line, so she has the rider work on making him more responsive.
