They now work on the walk pirouettes, checking for the balance, submission and speed of the turn, and repeating with less bend. This leads to a working canter pirouette with a transition to the walk pirouette and back to canter in the same position. In the canter pirouette Joyce works through changes of bend, tempo and the size of the pirouette, always looking for adjustability and relaxation. After changing direction she demonstrates how she controls the speed of the turn in the pirouette. She repeats all the variations in the pirouette going to the left.
