Catherine Haddad brings us the third video in a series about the collective marks and how to improve them. This video features the Impulsion mark, and Catherine begins by explaining how impulsion is related to thoroughness and straightness. She has the rider demonstrate that the impulsion has to come from behind without pulling on the reins. Catherine offers critical information on how to create better impulsion. She then talks about how the rider score and the impulsion score are related. Her rider demonstrates asking the mare to come up in the front with impulsion, and also demonstrates ( as Catherines request! ) some of the foibles of unskilled riders so you can see how the horse responds.
